Objectives
By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
          i.            Ask 2 simple questions about their favourite superheroes.
        ii.            Answer 2 simple questions about their favourite superheroes.
      iii.            Interview at least 3 out of 5 group members about their favourite superhero.

Set induction
(4 minutes)

1.      Teacher shows the picture of superheroes.

2.      Teacher elicits answers regarding their favourite superhero from the students.

3.      Teacher explains about the word ‘superheroes’.

4.      Teacher emphasizes to the students about the focus of the lesson.








Recalling Reinforcement Question and answer

Picture:
Picture of Superheroes.

Suggested questions regarding the picture:
1.      What can you see from the picture?
Suggested answer:
Superman, Spiderman, Batman.

2.      Do you know who are they?
Suggested answer:
Superheroes.

Explanation:
·         Superheroes are characters that have superpowers or amazing abilities.
·         They fight against crime, villain or bad people.
·         They help those who are in need.
·         Example: Spiderman, Superman.
Focus of the lesson:
·         How to ask question to your friends about their favourite superhero.
·         How to answer question about your favourite superhero.
·         How to describe your favourite superhero.

Class activity
(7 minutes)

5.      Teacher shows the ‘Language box’ to the students.

6.      Teacher explains to students that those are the examples of WH-Questions that they have learnt previously and they are required to implement the knowledge in today’s lesson.

7.      Teacher divides students onto two large groups.

8.       Teacher asks students to pay attention and explains the rules of the game to the students:

                                i.            One representative is required from each group to be the ‘Descriptor’
                              ii.            The ‘Descriptor’ needs to describe the picture of superhero given to the rest of the group.
                            iii.            The group members may ask questions to guess the picture.
                            iv.            Each group is given 1 minute to guess as many pictures as they can.
                              v.            The group that guess the most number of pictures is the winner.

Teaching aids:
·         Students’ units.
·         Language box
·         Picture card of Superheroes.




Class exercise
(6      minutes)

9.      Teacher divides students onto a group of 5.

10.  Teacher instructs students to work in groups and ask their friends about their favourite superhero in order to fill in the empty boxes provided in Exercise 1. They are given 2 minutes to complete the exercise. Teacher monitors the students.

11.  Teacher asks 4 random students to come in front and do the role-play of their interview session.

12.  Teacher checks students’ answers and give immediate feedback.

Closure
(3 minutes)

13.  Teacher concludes the lesson.

14.  Teacher gives extra exercise to do at home.

Write 4 sentences about your favourite superhero. You may refer your ‘Language’s Box.’
Assessment:
1.      Able to ask 2 simple questions about their favourite superhero.

2.      Able to answer 2 simple questions about their favourite superhero.

3.      Able to interview at least 3 out of 5 group members about their favourite superhero.
